Original and unrestored car body! Why painting it new when it is immaculate?

Same for the interior, this is a survivor one!

8valve naturally aspirated K-jetronic engine with an automatic gearbox: made no sense at all to restore. We completely restored a 16valve turbo engine and a 5 speed manual gearbox and transplant them into this car. To be able to run this car smoothly we converted the engine management system to the famous Trionic 5.

There is always something messing up in a unrestored 30 years old classic car engine. Small problems are frequent which brings you often to the garage. And when a big problem occurs it’s over: the car is in the garage for a long period and repairs can be costly!

By restoring the engine and its components completely it is like if we transplant a new heart into the car.

Engine Performance

We upgrade the power of all our restored SAAB 900 Classic to around 200hp. Air, oil and water cooling capacity as well as air/fuel delivery and exhaust size are increased to sustain this modification.

Exhaust System

A shiny complete 2.5 inch new exhaust from turbo back. The sound of this exhaust system is fantastic! Of course we add a brand new exhaust manifold as is tends to develop cracks over several decades.

Gearbox

Keep driving a 30 years + gearbox with original bearing, seals, bushings and sometime original oil? No way! We save it before something breaks and destroys the complete gearbox. We dismantle the gearbox completely. We hydroblast the outside of the casing and super clean the inside. We add new bearing all around. We replace all seals and also improve sealing solution to fill up any cavity located on the flat surfaces where the paper gasket goes. We inspect all pinions, synchros, forks, shafts, etc and replace them if there is too much wear. We upgrade the ratio of the primary chain to have longer gears. This allows you to drop the RPM of the engine, having more top speed and be more economical on gas mileage. We add a short shifter to replace the loose and imprecise original shifter.

Steering

Steering system gets a lot of abuse over the life of a SAAB 900. Leaks, play, noise, vibration, dry & cracked hoses, filter full… We make sure all of this are restored to as new condition. You can expect a precise and soft steering after restoration.

Chassis

Our chassis restoration & modification have been proven! Tested and approved by us and our customers! It feels and drives like a new car! Some says even better! You can take corners in a sporty way and still have confidence in the car. And for sure you will want to hit that throttle more on the next turn!

Brake System

Every components of the brake system are replaced with new parts. As simple as that. You will be surprised the difference it makes in braking compared to second hand parts. And for classic cars it is important to fit in todays traffic and be able to stop quick.

Wheels

Some restored to new conditions rims. It does make all the difference in the car appearance. And a quality set of new summer tires to grip to the road.

EXTERIOR

A giant quality work has been done on the detailing of this car. Even the engine bay is looking amazing. It will turn heads when you ll pop the hood that’s for sure! We added a new protection on the undercarriage and cavity wax. We sandblasted and painted all chassis parts. The car is ready to be daily used all year around. In most cases we fitted new spare pars on this car. Even some rare to find NOS parts. But when not possible we used the best condition second hand parts we could find.

Interior

On this restoration we decided to keep the original interior and not restore it. It is such in perfect condition and preservation. We of course professionally cleaned it and came out beautifully. We added a pristine original 3spoke steering wheel. We add a very nice upgrade to the car: additional gauges! A total of 3 + a knock light to keep control of your engine health. The dashboard is a survivor one and is in perfect condition without cracks! We always make 2 key copies based on the original key and we highly recommend our customers to keep the original one in a safe storage and use a strong copy. And you know what: we still use original SAAB uncut keys to do our copies! Radio system is up to date with bluetooth and phone connection but with an old school look. Speakers are new and in the original location in the car.

The car will be delivered professionally cleaned everywhere. Engine, gearbox and the rest of the car will have at least 3000 km minimum. Therefore the running-in / breaking-in period will be done.
